  21. One of the production houses where I showed my Demo reel called me this
  22. morning proposing me a deal: They want me to work for them as freelance on
  23. their SGI Onyx (don't know if it is the RealityEngine or the InfiniteReality)
  24. and SoftImage. I think it is very interesting because I never had the
  25. oportunity to use SoftImage (and I would never had it!!!) and in this way I
  26. can learn this wonderful program (so they say!) in a powerful cool machine.

  28. They offer me 15% of the animation cost for payment. I can't tell if this is a
  29. fair or not... On first thought, it is, because I will learn the package,
  30. OTOH, maybe it's not so good after a few months, what do you SGI experts say?!

  32. To all freelance (and non-freelance) animators that work with SGI:

  34. - Are those 15% fair?!

  36. - Do you use Lightwave there?!
  37.  
  38. - Is it worth it in comparison with SoftImage (I will try to persuade my
  39. employee to buy one in a near future)?! I mean, does it pay to have both
  40. packages?
